Seriously. We Euros/Brits like to take the mick out of you but at the end of the day I'd sooner have you in our corner than against us.

We love to tease you and moan about you (us Brits moan about everything) but for the most part its affectionate. You're a great bunch of friends to have when it comes down to it.

I do not know America enough to 'love' it. I know a few Americans who are great, others who are a royal pain in the a**e, same as any other nation in the world really.

But inflicting McDonalds, Burger King, KFC and George Bush on the world does take some forgiving!!!!!!! (but like the Americans who did not vote the moron in and will have to pick up the pieces when they finally get rid of him).

You've also given us some great movies (and some of the cruddiest things I have ever seen on a screen) so all in all, yes Americans you are OK

Peanut Butter, Star Trek, Velvet Underground, Blondie.

I've been to America several times and it's a place of friendly people well aware of what's going on in the world and cynical about the americanisation of the world. What we get presented with via their politicians, business corporations, TV and Hollywood is really the bottom of the cultural barrel.

I have been to the USA on holiday and Worked there too, and as with all countries there are good sides and bad sides.

In general I found the American people friendly and not at all like Hollywood, Which I think is what taints peoples views on the USA.

I have visited the US and have had numerous American friends and colleagues over the years, and found them mostly pleasant and kind people, more open in fact than most Brits.

I have nothing against the US. A bit of p!ss taking is harmless and it goes both ways but some of it on here is nothing but offensive beyond a joke.

As an American, I am happy to see your question and the answers. I was starting to worry that our govt and corporations were turning the whole world against us.

Thank you !

I enjoy my arguments with the Yanks. But I`d still rather have them backing up the UK. The thought of Europe backing up the UK scares the sh1t out of me :-O

how can you not love America. nearly all of my favorite music flow's from the States. on a sad! note there are thousands of young guys in graves over here who gave their lives for this country and its people in two world wars. and when it comes right down to it. i would not!!! want to trust my country's security to the cowardly traiterouse EU. we asked for their help in the Falklands war. they not only refused! but allowed the French to carry on selling the Argies exoset missiles to kill our soldiers with......would you want those gutless bastards behind you in a war??? I'l stick with America thanks. i know! i can rely on them. i know they have courage and loyalty.

Thanks guys :-) And you have been our friends for so long, we simply could not imagine our lives without you. I would LOVE to go to England someday. I have seen the Queen twice here in America, when she was visiting in Kentucky. You are all blessed to be living your lives during her reign.
