What do charities do with the used stamps they collect?

I'm collecting for 'Hearing Dogs For The Deaf' as my son is deaf, he's hoping to get a dog from them when he is 18.

They sort out category wise ,package and sell them to collectors,mostly beginners.Money used for their charitable activities.
