I have a weed tree that is knocking down my fence. I have tried everything to get rid of it. The city will not let me remove it unless it is dead. Any suggestions?

Girdle the trunk by stripping off about a 1 inch band of bark around the whole thing. That will kill it.

You might try spraying it with weedkiller. Spray the leaves--then the weedkiller will be carried to the rest of the plant. I have mulberry trees all over the yard, and when I cut them down this year, I tried it. Before, they had always started growing back right away. I haven't seen any signs of that yet.

drill a small hole into the cambium layer and inject round up or brush off.youll see results in a couple of weeks.you could try driving a copper nail into the tree as this will give it copper poisoning
