what was the issue/rule with the lifts that the judges kept talking about?

it makes sense about both feet leaving the floor, but people do that all the time on that show..? it seemed like a bigger issue this week.

Almost all the dancers last night performed lifts. Lifts are specifically not allowed in the competition. I'm a little fuzzy on what the actual rule is. One time the judges stated that a lift is when both feet leave the ground. Another time they stated that a lift was anything that a dancer couldn't do by themselves. If it truly is something a dancer can't do by themselves, then most of the moves would be illegal. All the death drops, the men pulling the women across the floor, etc. would fall under that category.

Because the " Stars " are not pros the network has issued a rule that on one may preform a lift. Lifts are dangerous and you can get hurt. Know one wants to shut down production due to a "Star" being hurt. The back ground issue is the insurance company will not indemnify the network if a "Star " is hurt. They do let some lifts only at the last show when they allow free style dancing.

They are not aloud to have both feet leave the floor at any time. So when the man "lifts" the woman it is an error on technical detail.
