It depends on what you eat, your metabolism and sometimes family history. If there is any history of diabetes (especially on your mother's side) then it would be a good idea to get tested for it. Unexpected wait gain like that can be a sign of diabetes, but there are other problems such as a change in your metabolism or may be a problem with your thyroid. It would be best to go to your G.P. and get tested for diabetes and thyroid problems. (especially if there has been no major change in your diet and it just seems that your wait has been creeping up all of a sudden)

Thats a lot of weight to gain in only 6 months, but it's not impossible either..

with a high calorie intake and no exercise.

Also , you might want to get your thyroid checked out, under active thyroids cause weight gain

well a person can gain like 50 lbs in a month wit eating crazy but it can be muscle to like if u weight train but u gain not lose probably chances are it turned into muscle bcuz muscle weighs more than fat

If you've just switched birth control methods- for example, if you're on ortho-tricyclen, that could be the cause. Check with your Dr....otherwise, unless you're eating alot it's not exactly 'normal'.....I'd check with your Doc to see if it's a healthy weight gain or not. =)

well Im a guy and I gained about that much. But am doing something about it now..saying no to 2nds and leaving the sweets alone!!!

I wouldn't describe it as "normal" otherwise everyone would be obese. It is just a case of eating too much rubbish and not getting enough exercise.

Yes, but its not good! Eating cakes, fast food, and other such stuff for six months will PILE weight on.
