Family-sized chocolate bars. We have only ever had 2 kids come to the door in the last 30 years, we are a little off the beaten path.
Back when kids were not afraid of home made treats, there was an old lady in town who made popcorn balls and gave them out. There was nothing wrong with them but she put a little green food coloring in the glaze, and she never had many repeaters.

I like to give out the good candy like chocolate not those candy corns or the plastic bubble gum or suckers. So I buy lots of mixed hershey, milky way, snickers, kit kat, reeses etc...bags and let em have it, but this year I'm going out not giving out since my son is old enough now.
