Should Some Books be Banned from the library? regardless of the 1st amendment. Since some books do contain obscenity, racial slurs and profanity? and it might discourage our children's mind?

Thanks.

The government should not ban any books under any circumstances.
The librarian should use good judgment in spending the library's limited budget on the books that will serve the community best.

no then we have no books left. you start banning one then its going to end up being a very empty library. everyone is going to check out the same book...probably the bible or some form of the bible (koran, any other works of bibles) since most wouldn't believe those books would be "bad". i work in a public library. i wouldn't mind checking that out for people..less work for me ^_^ but that be very sad to not have books just because there are a selected few who dislike certain books because they most likely do no understand the book. and if something would be banned we all know they will start with the Harry Potter series and that would be horribly sad since that series has gotten a lot of children to read!

No, i dont think so because
no one forces any one to read certain books
people make their own choice
however people under the age of 18 shouldnt be allowed read books such as u mentioned
but if u r above 21 yes you should choose whatever u like
