If you want to become a psychologist, do you also have to attend medical school like a regular doctor?

Be sure you know what you want. Most people are not aware of the differences between psychiatrists and psychologists (outside of the degrees). The web sites for both professions will distinguish the careers for you.

No psychologists re not medical doctors. You can of course receive a doctorate in psychology, it's a PsyD I believe. You are not able to prescribe medications.That would be up to a psychiatrist

Psychology is the science of mind and behavior.

Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that deals with mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders

Psychiatrists go to med school.
Psychologists do not.
