Are they there to make males look more human than they would without them? Would that then mean, women are the most human looking? Why do boys need nips?

Crypt: I imagine we used those things through out evolution. We just don't need them any more. What did you use your nips for, or are you saying god just makes mistakes?

Candice: That doesn't explain why boys need them. Can you go deeper with you explanation?

That's an interesting question and I asked the same thing in this forum not too long ago, and got a wide variety of answers. Apparently, men's breasts actually do have milk ducts in them, too, and if properly stimulated (with hormones) they could actually produce milk! Why do they have them? No one really knows for sure...there is a debate going on as to why...some scientists believe that the human embryo is female until the 9th week of gestation, when the "X" chromosome kicks in it's genetic instructions and the sex organs of the fetus begin to develop. Some scientists believe that the embryo is "sexless" and has an "indifferent sex organ" (not sure what that means, but that's what my human development textbook is saying)- and that at the 9th week the embryo (now a fetus) begins developing it's "XX" or "XY" sex organs. However, if you ask me, it's still kind of a mystery. Some people theorize that perhaps long, long ago, men's breasts/nipples actually served a real function, perhaps men were able to breast feed. Some say maybe they were "back up " breast feeders during a time when human survival was much more difficult than it is today. However, no true evidence has been found to support such ideas...but in my opinion, it's a theory that actually makes some kind of sense. Another question that puzzles me is why haven't these "ornamental" features been lost through evolution?

HEY!! Just wait a minute. I'am Male and my NIPPLES work just fine!!! When I'am at work and the loose material rubs against them I automatically think of what I have at home and how She will make those NIPPLES feel 1000 percent better as well as used, when She's on my head and fixes me w/a "nows the time" stare then reaches up and strokes them; I BLOW!!!and she lovenley laps them clean and prepares for another type of delight. The Male nipple is so much more than a vanity thing Boys and Girls, It's a part of the male structure and it has it's place in any and all of your adventures. USE IT OR LOSE IT

The fetus transforms from a default template. That template is neither definitely male or female (though it is more female than male) but a sort of blank slate that could change into either depending on which hormones it gets. Nipples are included in the blank slate. Men have nipples because human females *must* have nipples in order to feed children in adulthood.

Incidentally, sometimes, they *do* work. Male lactation can be induced with either hormones or frequent suckling. I doubt it provides much milk though.

EDIT:

As a side note, boys do not actually *need* nipples. They just have them, because it's simpler from a developmental perspective (from nature's POV) to start everyone out with nipples than make nipples grow on some and not on others. It would actually be much more complicated and difficult to have nipples on one gender and not on another, because that would suggest two entirely different structures on the chest. As of now, they're virtually the same, just differently proportioned. Same with the genitals...almost structurally identical. A penis is just a big clitoris.

Alright Ill crack at this one, from what i understand of the development cycle of newborns, when in the womb we are pretty much the SAME THING, both males and females have many same parts, then as we develop we become more dominant in certain areas, so thats your answer, because were all drawn from the same mold

we all start out the same in the womb. it is only later on in fetal development do our genitals grow. so the nipples have to be there early on because it is not yet determined if we will be male or female. the little lump between our legs morphs into a vulva or penis eventually but the nips stay!

oh they work just fine..........i can grab hold of one right now and get an orgasm in about 30 minutes. it's the on switch when my husband is asleep.

and if you think women are more 'human looking' because of their breasts, what does that say about a girl that hasn't developed, a flat chested woman or a woman that has undergone a double mastectomy? are you or your ilk the reason gals feel the need for padded, push-up bras? silicone? is there some sort of shame when you lose a breast? for years we have been told that we are worthy regardless of our breasts. you just took that all away because you are trying to disparage man. how cruel. you've done a great disservice to women and men alike.

Candice nailed it, short and sweet. Rebel F filled in the details nicely.

I wish I didn't have them. Mine are WAY too sensitive. Painfully so if I am running and my shirt rubs them.

its because "God" invented evolution.

while in utero, up until a certain point, a fetus is female. At a certain point in gestation, a dose of certain hormones as well as a few other factors contribute to either continued development as a female or development as a male. Males have mammary glands as well because of this. Essentially, with the exception of a few anatomical parts, the bodies of men and women arent all that different. the few differences are huge, but they are few.

At conception, we all have the same prototype. The genitals are the only area that change during fetal growth..
