Mine has a fried bios chip that is built in my motherboard.....are there any other motherboards that I can use on my laptop or do I have to use a certain one? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My motherboard has a fried bios chip that is unfortunately part of the motherboard.....Do i need to have the travelmate 2310 series board or will another acer model board work inside this laptop....is there another acer travelmate series that is or may be compatable with mine???

Only a motherboard made by the manufacturer will fit.
So unless you can find an old laptop of the same model and salvage the motherboard out of that you would probably be better off just throwing it out (probably cost too much to buy a new one and you might even have to buy it along with installation, not such a bad idea with a laptop though).
You can't just stick a standard motherboard in a laptop because there just isn't any standard for laptop motherboards.
