I've been do some research on this subject
and I'd like your opinion.
(This is for a new novel.)

Yes. Especially in older adults who are in poor health. I've had geriatric patients that became unresponsive, (ususally with an elevated temp.) After a urinalysis was done & pt. was treated aggressively with antibiotics, they slowly came around. Sometimes IV antibiotics were neccesary.

yes. i believe any bacteria can be life threatening. especially if for some unknown reason it mutates and becomes drug resistant
