For one to attain wisdom, he must first admit to his own ignorance..
Judging by some of these replies, People even have a hard time seeing past their noses.
Who here, is really so self-centered to actually believe we are alone and we have NOT had Extraterrestrials here?
Do you people really think anyone would lie so they could be ridiculed by the likes of you?..It appears ego problems run rampant. I guess another primitive human trait.

Regardless..I will state ..that I have seen UFOs and I DO mean extraterrestrial crafts. I have had numerous close encounters.. and from them I do know for a fact we have never been alone.
I have seen elongated diamond UFOs, twice at VERY close proximity at my lake. My second sighting of it there was a dark circle in the the middle of it. I have seen a silver disc UFO right above me in the middle of my lake as I fished in the boat, one August afternoon.
I have seen multiple spheres about 60 the first night and around 100 the second..as the flew around right above me as I stood on my deck watching. I have seen a craft that may have been the size of four football fields or it may even have been as large as a mile long and half a mile wide. A large glowing sphere..that was so odd and out of place.
My encounters really took off beginning in 2002 when I moved to my home town and started to build a cabin at the lake..where most of sightings and encounters have been.
I have no doubt from these encounters and more, that we are not alone..
These crafts have a speed that they can attain almost instantly. They can be sitting heavily above me then in a fraction of a second (closer to 2/10ths of a second) they are flying at what I estimate between 50,000 and 100,000 miles an hour. If you watch them leave and they exit straight ahead and up..you can see them leave..If they leave..to your side..(where you would have to turn your had to see them) they would almost appear to disappear.
I merely scratched the surface on what I have encountered..there are more encounters that I am sharing on my Yahoo 360 blog if you want more details about the sightings and encounters.

As for why they are here is a very good question..
I am certainly not going to get into anything here about what I feel..from my experiences..but I will say..
Soon..no human will be able to deny the existence of extraterrestrials and them being here..

always have trouble with questions like this...

Do you mean UFOs... as in Unidentified Flying Objects... or... UFOs as in "Flying Saucers from Mars"?

As to the first... heck yeah! real real real! there's a TON of SUBSTANTIATED mysteries. Yup. "I dont know what that was..." "Neither do I" Confirmed... they both did NOT know... therefore.... UFO!

As to aliens? Pull the other one. It has bells on it.

(aliens do NOT exist... although there is a strong mathematical probability they do exist somewhere... just not here and never here. get a grip. its a big galaxy and we will likely never find any more life anywhere... this however does NOT mean Creationists are correct about anything)

I do not believe in alien UFOs. I do not believe in any of the "reports" of UFOs and aliens by others. Unlike your first answer, if this UFO thing ever turned out to be true, I don't see how it would disprove creationism.

I haven't noticed much about UFO sightings before the 90's either. I guess it just depends whether you have a working reality filter or not. If you do, UFOs register as little as ghosts, the predictions of Nostradamus and pyramid tower. If you don't, well, you will always waste time on some sort of nonsense.

the chances for other life in the universe outside our own planet is astronomically high, and its not very far fetched to think there exists intelligent life other than ourselves.

however there is too much controversy over UFO's to discern which pictures and videos are real, and which are faked. m guess is 99% of ufo accounts are fakes, people looking for attention, or people who mistake a UFO for something terrestrial.

that remaining 1% can fall into all the other unsolved mysteries of the world, with the pyramids of Egypt, easter island, ghosts, God, Atlantis, and other things of the mysterious and supernatural.

Very likely fake, there is no circulation of the event in "serious" media, only in tabloids. The pictures of the UFO had been quickly found to be either reflections of a car in a window, or the launch of a Progress-M freighter from Kazakhstan one week earlier. Asking a few Chinese students from the region around Hangzhou, nobody can confirm that the airport had been closed.

Real. There is much concrete proof that has been revealed in the media:

- audio recordings from reputable commercial airline pilots where multiple pilots have witnessed the same crafts.

- there is video from space shuttles, one where an object matches the speed of the shuttle, then stops and changes direction. No meteor could do this. There is also video from one of the moon landing crafts of a spacecraft hovering nearby.

- crop circles. pull up "crop circles" from yahoo images. there is no way a few people could pull off these overnight and without an areial view.

- drawings from anciet times depicting crafts in the sky when human flight was not possible.

- logs from ship captains of aircraft long before human flight was possible.

- sightings from hundreds of people witnessing the same events, including video that has been tested and considered genuine.

There have been false accounts and altered video that has been proven to be fake, but there is much proven evidence of the existence of alien craft.

We have sent a craft that has landed on Mars and has taken pictures and driven around on the surface. It's definately possible that there are other planets in the universe that are similiar to earth in the ability to sustain life. It's feasible that there is intelligent life that is far advanced beyond our comprehension, as our current technologies are far beyond the comprehension of early man on earth. If we have advanced far enough to visit other planets, it's certainly possible that other life in the universe has the capability to visit our planet.

I believe the government has much concrete evidence, but will not share it with the public for fear of creating havoc.

It is very self centered, and foolish, to assume that because you have not seen it, it does not exist. By that standard: England does not exist, I've never seen it; Australia does not exist, I've never seen it; the Atlantic ocean is a figment of your imagination, I've never seen it; you do not exist, I've never seen you.

There are a great many witnesses and experiencers to extraterrestrial vehicles.

UFO - Unidentified Flying Object. If you see an Object that is Flying, and it is Unidentified, then you saw a UFO.

REAL. only one who has seen them can say they are real people who sit here and say its fake are the ones who shouldn't say anything simply because they have never seen one. i never seen Jesus, that doesn't make him fake. The universe is never ending billions of starts within each galaxy there is sooo much out there that we don't know about because we still have not fully evolved. anyways they don't come from just one planet them come from many look into the www.disclosureproject.org its ran by Dr. Steven Greer anyone who sits there and say they are fake! get a life go back to your cave and continue to be the plague of earth.

i have seen a few "UFOs"
so if you are interested in hearing more just send me an email :)

There are certainly observations in the sky that have never been satisfactorily explained. However, the hypothesis that these are craft piloted by intelligent critters is very unlikely. I suppose it is not impossible, but it is hard to imagine the motives to travel vast distances, at enormous cost, and to not announce "We're here!"

Virtually all scientists agree that UFOs have natural explanations, even if we don't know all of them yet.
