My raido is turned on to the oldies station. The oldies songs have rythem, beat, and words that make you feel good. However, the music is so great that the words are rarely heard. If there is music today that is on the same order, where are the stations? Do you think we're listening to the greatest music or living in the past? Never live in the past.

it is kinda like living in the past because it reminds u of the past events in your life. however music is like a language it's what you relate to or understand. it's what inside your heart. you might like some music now because they say history repeat it's self but your not going to relate to it as much because it's not where at the stage your at in your life. your listening to people who are in or near the same stage in your life that you are so you relate to them. you relate to their past and maybe even their present. im 19 but i relate and like some of the music that is from the 50's and 60's and 70's and 80's...what wasn't even thought of for most of that time...even the 80's i was still a baby but things repeat them self sometimes and what they sing about then i still can relate to my self and my life now.

i think it is a little bit of both.

people are nostalgic about their youth, so they like to listen to what they listened to when they were young. it is not about living in the past, persay, but just bringing back some memories of a time they felt more carefree.

I do think that older music has a better sound than a lot of what is on the radio now. I like a lot of the classic rock from the 70's right now, and it is not the music of my youth. I grew up in the 80's and 90's. The music during the 70's sounds more organic and less manufactured than what is on the radio now.

I like to tune in Eral Scruggs and Lester Flats, and listen to some good old Blue Grass.

i honestly believe it is a matter of opinion. im 18 and listen to absolutely everything. from all different generes. on my ipod i have 22 generes everything from electronica to screamo to country to christian and rock and rap. i listen to music for the lyrics. and hardly ever listen to the radio cause music is getting monotonous especially with rap/hip hop. i stick with local/indie bands most of all and they arent played on the radio. but id check out 89.7 power fm. awesome christian rock station and they play everything from local bands from the dfw area to more mainstream christian rock bands. music is just amazing anyway you look at it. and its nice to be able to appreciate every form of music because you find soo much more thats out there!

if you don't know about the past, meaning music and other things, how would you know about the future?
