Perhaps you refer to the idea that if something simple suffices it is pointless to look for something more complex. In life that is often true. Making do with simple things can confer many advantages -- contentment, durability (consumer goods), health. There is an apocryphal story along these lines. Reportedly the U.S. spent an enormous amount of money looking for a ball-point pen that would work in the zero-gravity of spacecraft. The Russians simply used pencils.
Another use of simplicity is Occam's Razor -- see link below for details. It says that among competing theories or assumptions that explain a given set of phenomena or observations, the simplest ones are the best. The arguments among philosophers about Occam's Razor center around how "simplicity" is to be measured. Luckily for them and their PhD students, the latter issue is not nearing a consensus.

Simplicity is good because it allows you to see life clearly and not stress the unimportant events. Simplicity is good in a lifestyle in this very complicated world to help keep yourself balanced and at peace. But when things are always being dumbed down to be simple for everyone the original theory gets lost and we live a false sense of understanding. Then that brings up the argument what is better: understanding or wisdom? I believe a healthy balance of both is good to feel at peace with yourself and truly enjoy life.

in a way.. simple really is better.. that usually means less stress and hassle. but it stops there. it doesn't challenge u or gives u a sense of fullfilment that some strives for. nothing is worth much if it comes easy to you. some may like leading the simple life or taking the simple way out but i personally prefer something more challenging. it doesn't matter if u win or lose, but it's how u play the game that's important, right?

Better is a relative term. What is better for one person isn't necessarily better for another. A less convoluted lifestyle may be more comforting to one person while a life of extreme change may be more suitable for another.
I try not to get involved with 'blanket statements' because they rarely apply to most people. The best one can do is to explore what fits his or her life and conceptual ideology of things.

It's just less complicated, less busy, less confusing, less stress thus it has to be sweeter all the way around.! I think the world needs to stop and go backward where things were more simple and everything meant so much more.

I prefer it,as opposed to chaos in my face, which I detest and can't handle.
For instance,I have a lawyer,a financial advisor,a pastor,etc.
They help keep my life simpler, which reduces the stress,so I can deal with my life each day, like setting out the rat bait for my new 'tenants 'in the attic, take my kid to his tutor/sports etc.
I had to set up my life as such, and man has it paid off, what I have no power in is gods dept.
