David St. Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel formed The Originals in 1964 but had to change their name when they found out there was another band by that name so they changed it to The Thamesmen where they had 2 minor hits,"Gimme Some Money" and "Cups and Cakes",then.......Wait a minute! This is Spinal Tap! I feel as stupid as that guy who posted "yes I know"...OK..." Chief, I'll get on it right away"....PS.Finally got hold of Go-Go Gomez and he reckons it's.. Rick Parnell on drums with Atomic Rooster nad David Kaffinetti on keys with Rarebird..I betcha didn't know Christopher Guest was a Baron..forget the 'whole' title..Jamie Lee Curtis and all. Swine!

I searched wikipedia and all I could find was Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac) played drums with Spinal Tap in 2000 and is also mentioned as the only surviving drummer. Also in 1991 David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) played bass with them for an Amnesty International show. Tim Renwick and Jon Carin (Division Bell era Floyd) also played bass & keyboards respectively.

Yes I know - Harry Shearer (bass) toured with Saxon in '81.
Dave Gilmour played bass for them in an Amnesty concert '91. (Pink Floyd).
Mick Fleetwood played drums for them sometime in 2000.
(Fleetwood Mac).
not an easy question buddy! lol
ps Harry Shearer is one of the voice actors on the Simpsons. Ned Flanders surprisingly.
