NASCAR is quickly becoming the Indy Retirement League.

And nothing...NOTHING...is purely 'American'.

Miller is made by a South African company.

Chrysler was (until recently) German-owned.

My Mercury was built by Mazda (in a US plant) with European Ford parts.

Well he has won the Indy 500 and The IRL Championship, he he wants something new...He is a super nice guy I have met Dario and Ashley both great people.. He will be great in Nascar, he just needs some seat time, I'm not going to say he is going out there and win alot of races his first yr... But I do hope Dan Wheldon takes his time and waits a couple yrs before he comes over, we have the king of Whine already, all we need is another Gordon..

Nascar is an "American" sport but isnt america made up of a bunch of imigrants anyways? hes a good driver and i dont consider any thing a win unless you win competing against the best. he might not be the best stock car driver when he first starts but give him time and he will win and he will be good. basicaly if you say that he shouldnt be able to race because hes not american, thats like saying you cant ride in the front of the bus because your black. every one, american or not, black or white should have the same opportunity to build a leagacy and and join imortality. More Competition, the better and i think its crazy when some one says "he cant race nascar, hes scottish."

I watched an interview with him, he seems like a stand up guy with out the arrogance baggage. Drivers gravitate to NASCAR 'cause that's where the dollars are.

Personally I prefer IRL, but like racing in general so I watch NASCAR as well.

Seems to me that you placed this question in the wrong category. It would serve you better to have it in the NASCAR thread.

A lot of drivers from different leagues are moving to NASCAR and, IMHO, they're chasing more race-time and the bigger purses.

Personally, I think NASCAR should remain an American Sport, with American drivers, but then: My one opinion isn't worth much to such a large organization.

have you ever said that if this extremely does happen, the three adult adult males on Ganassi Racing will be: 40: Franchitti, an IRL driver 40-one: Sorenson, a each day NASCAR driver 40 2: Montoya, a former F1 driver it really is why Ganassi isn't doing properly. they could in basic terms have one "NASCAR in basic terms" driver.

I think it's great. I have confidence that the top Nascar drivers will hold their own against these open wheel drivers and in the end give more credibility to Nascar.

One thing about it, his wife will definately add some class to the garage area. After all she was famous before marrying into racing and not just be a trophy like 90 percent of the rest of the women in the garage are.

I don't know how EVERYBODY feels... I know how *I* feel... and I don't like it. NASCAR is an AMERICAN sport. WHY can't we have an AMERICAN sport? WHY does it have to be "international"? I mean, do we have CAMEL races? NO... cuz it's not an AMERICAN sport. Do we have Sumo wrestling? NO... cuz it's not an AMERICAN sport.

Call me provincial... but that is how I FEEL about it! It's nothing against the IRL drivers... it's just something PRO AMERICAN instead.

VAAARROOOMMM! GO J-Gordon GO!
