That depends on what you are trying to do on the site.

If you are sending private information, it should be secure. Look for the padlock in the lower right hand corner and make sure that it says https in the address bar (not http). Any site that wants you to send personal information to them should have secure encryption.

If you are not sending personal information to this site and still want to browse it, look for things like the last time they updated. Pictures not loading properly and non working links are a good sign of a neglected site. Also, any site that changes your window cannot and should not be trusted.

You don't have to know it but believe that no site is worthy of any trust on Internet.I would even go a step ahead and say that we must mistrust all sites unless we have strong reasons to believe otherwise(that too in the rarest of the rare cases).
