I'm very sorry you spend Chritmas alone. Have you ever thought of asking another co-worker, that will be spending Christmas a lone, over for dinner? Or another friend that is lonely?
I live in a Navy Town, we have over the years invited a sailor that would be spending the day a lone, over for dinner.
The Christmas tree is best. When my kids were very small, they would decorate the tree with all the decorations around the bottom, they couldn't reach any higher. Their Dad would tell me to re-arrange the decorations. I would tell him 'It is their tree, I'm not touching it."
As the years went by, my oldest grew very fast and very tall, my son is chronically ill, and hasn't gotten very tall, my youngest daughter is average height. So now my tree gets decorated all the way around, and all the way to the top.

My fave Christmas tradition involving decorations is putting up the Christmas tree.
Hmm, I guess the tree would be my favourite decoration. Though I don't really have one particular favourite, I just like all the decorations in general - the more decorations, the better (doesn't have to be anything expensive though).

My favorite tradition is trying to get the "Griswold" look.
I put up tons of lights. If you live in your own home, you should try it too. You will meet tons of people and have a great time spreading Christmas joy.

The nativity scene.............. the reason for the season. Go to all the Christmas pageants and festivities that you can. Find a local church and you'll find people to love you.

It has to be the X'mas tree. When it's lighted up, it gives the Christmassy atmosphere, whether you are alone or with someone, whether there's gifts under the tree or none...
