First 3 breakers are 15 amp 4th one is 20amp. its for a living room and solid copper wire, 45 year old house, metal boxes up stairs.

I have repaired and replaced many electrical thinngs, not a novice, but know enough to be scrare. A profffesional rewired our main box 3 years ago and never made sense how we went from 15 to 42 breakers

Did find some breakers with black on the right white on the left. And need to judge saftey over paranoia because family member has health issues

It seems like someone thought each breaker was a different circuit. The fourth breaker seems to be acting as a main breaker for the other three. You do not mention the size of the breakers so it's hard to determin why the weird wiring circuits. There is a high resistance somewhere in the circuits . possibly a loose conection. Is it copper wire?

Put your fears aside and call a licensed, professional electrician. You dont sound as though you have the skills to troubleshoot this.

Call in an electrician. Something sounds very wrong.

You need a professional electrician. I have seen some pretty bad do it yourself wiring and it can be very dangerous. I would be uncomfortable.
