The Bush administration allowed BP (British Petroleum) to run the fuel supplies in the US. They suppressed any inventions that are an attempt to develop new and less expensive sources of fuel. They tried to scuttle the fuel cell industry.
Bush and his administration has supported the petroleum industry and the Saudis. Condol. Rice has an oil tanker named after her. Fossil fuels are the Bush family's source of income and they don't want another fuel source developed. The Bushes fought to keep the oil industry going and rewarded them with huge profits.
America isn't addicted to oil. It needs fuel to move. The only one being shoved at American citizens is oil. We need something else and soon, but it won't be there as long as a Bush has a say in determining what fuel we need.

Bush also stated that our energy problems today were because we didn't have an Energy Policy before. What he didn't mention was the reason for that was because Reagan/Bush, Sr. dismantled the one Jimmy Carter had implemented 30 years ago. Bush's 'new & improved' Energy Plan provides $8 billion dollars in 'welfare' payments to the oil business, and rebates to buy gas-guzzling Hummers.

Bush has tried to tell us that there's such a thing as "clean coal", yet the reality shows a very dirty picture...
Shortly after Bush took office, Cheney ordered a 90 day review of pending EPA violations cases. Instead of the EPA conducting the review, as was normal, the EPA was ordered conduct the review “in consultation with the energy department. The result of this review was the Clear Skies” initiative which (1) eliminated mandatory pollution caps for individual plants in favor of industry-wide levels allowing companies to buy and sell emissions credits and (2) states that no improvements in pollution levels would be required of any companies for at least 10 years and the pending cases were dropped. Bush and the RNC, in return, got 4.8 million dollars in campaign contributions from the electric utility industry to the Bush campaign, the Republican National Committee and the innagural committee. That total included 1.85 million from the four largest utilities facing NSR enforcement actions, and another $424,770 from five other utilities also facing NSR actions.

Oh yeah, there is that invasion of a sovereign nation in the quest for "yellow-cake oil" and how about that interesting contract that Hunt Oil obtained and that is now being investigated by Congress.

Hunt Oil, a closely held, family-owned company... with a reputation for taking risks and some interesting political connections. A couple of obscure sources I got through Google. I'm not familiar with the sources to know where they'd fall on a credibility scale, so just tossing it out there:

**NOTE: Above sources linked to Google cache, so 'juicy parts' are highlighted.
Basically, Bush/Cheney only listen to their master's voice and their master is the fossil fuels industry.

He has established pro-American democracies in the Middle East, which is an incredible stablizing force, especially when you consider that they are two of about a dozen other pro-American democracies:
Qatar
Kuwait
Saudi Arabia
Oman
Bahrain
United Arab Emirates
Jordan
Egypt
Israel
Turkey
Kenya
Ethiopia
India
Pakistan
The stablizing of the Middle East is a security blanket for our future. Try to think ahead a bit. It's not all about living for today. If it were, terrorist groups would have overrun the entire land and we would all be blackmailed for oil, selling at $300 per barrell.

Was his statement incorrect?

In 2001 or 2002 he brought out a comprehensive energy plan. Aimed at reducing foreign imports and becoming more energy sufficience. Unfortunately the Democrats sank the plan. The usually crap, the plan was formulated with the help of the companies that produce energy and because of that was somehow suspect. So if you want to know why we still have a problem ask harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

I have noticed that liberals like to use the term sheep or sheeple to refer to non-liberals
I wonder of they know the term sheeple was used frequently by white supremacists to refer to people not of their unique hysteria
liberals=racist scum
