I want to play xbox live but my modem only has one ethernet cable port and one connected to the phone line. Will my computer mess up if i disconnect the ethernet thats on my computer(mostly becuz my mom will kill me if i mess up the internet) to play my xbox live? Also when I hook up the ethernet cable to my 360 will it mess up my modem? In other words if i keep switching the ethernet cables to use the computer then switch it and play my 360 will my modem act the same? or is it even possible?

Yeah..why wouldent it...if you only have one ethernet slot then seriously consider buying a new router..but yeah ur plan works i used todo that

There will be no harm done if you switch the ethernet cable.
You should consider getting a router so you don't have to unplug it all the time.
It doesn't matter too much =) (you just wont be able to use the computer and xbox online at the same time)

i do the same thing, no i do it all the time xbox 360 to pc, pc to xbox 360

Take your 360 back buy a PS3...Problem Solved :)
