for some reason I got chucked off as I was about to give my answer so here it is
'No - Love does. Look at an animal protecting its young, ask any mother if they would die for their kids, most wouldn't hesitate in saying yes. Fear is horrid but love can triumph, I know because I been there and I done it!'
hope the asker sees this as so sorry I couldn't give this answer properly.

The cause of fear is ignorance. The moment you understand fear is conquered. You are afraid to enter the dark room ,because you donot know what is inside. The moment light is switched on and you find nothing inside your fear disappears! If you want to conquer fear, fight ignorance.

Fear in one sense is a good thing. It makes you stronger to face reallity. e.g.You fall in a river, you overcome your fear and swim.A different fear is if you are frightened of a particular thing, like death. No one has died and come back to tell us what it is really like to die,so it is only natural most people are frightened of dying. You cannot overcome that fear unless you are really religious.
