a new era in France began when a new political system was formed, Louis XVI was beheaded, war began or France formed allies with Prussia and Spain????

i dont think any of those happened.....=/

The whole book details the start of the revalution.. the royal family was being killed but the book focused on characters who were not as recognizable.. including a somewhat distant (and reluctant) relative of the noble house.. The new era actual would be AFTER the end of the book.. and it is FAR to late for me to be thinking about Prussia and Spain.. I'm lucky my sentences make sense.. Info on that should be pretty easy to find online..
