I want to go visit NYU and a few other colleges..BUT?

I live in California, and my mom does not want to come with me to visit. I'm currently a sophomore, and I'm trying to find accommodation in New York for about a week, so I can visit the schools during my spring break. Would I be able to do it without my mom? (She really has a lot of things going on, and she can't make it any other years..long story). Help! Thank you so much, in advance.

If you are a sophomore in HS, then there are two things to consider.

1. It is still early to be looking at schools. You can wait another year.

2. You are really too young to be wandering around NYC without an adult with you.
