Just bring your income and the other parent will have to bring theirs. Along with expenses for both. Should be cut and dry.

Go online to your state Child Support Enforcement Website. Download the worksheet that pertains to your situation (ie shared or joint custody) Fill it out and take it to court with you. Judges love to see people do this for themselves and you will also know beforehand what the amount will be.

If you can at all avoid going to court and work something out among youselves, try that first. If you can't, get the best lawyer you can afford because you will soon learn that the system IS NOT fair. Do your research.

make sure you have your lowest pay stubs with you. they base it on your income and the childs mothers income. and always pay it on time.. my hubby for 10 yrs never missed a payment.. its one of the things in life you will just have to do due to you having a child with someone.. be sure to talk about school and college.. that will come up some day.. see if you can get them to split it with the mother and you. the costs i mean.. thats what happened with my hubby.. he paid 40% and she paid 40% and son paid 20% of college.. as for regular school they split it. get your ducks in a row for later..like when his daughter became of age 18 and started working in a factory we had her emancipated due to her working and maker her own living.. then we didnt have to pay any more on her..write things down you want to talk to judge about or your lawyer.. good luck
