If a cell starts with24 chromosomes or 12 pairs, how many chromosomes will there be alltogether in the end?

in other words... If we start with a cell that has 24 chromosomes or 12 pairs, how many chromosomes will be found in the two cells that are produced at the end of the cell cycle?

24 each or 24 all together? and yes mitosis

If it is mitosis, the daughter cells will contain 24, just like the parent cell.

Each cell will have 24 chromosomes (12 pairs), so the total for two cells is 48 (24 pairs).
