I want to buy a 3 bedroom ranch house with an unfinished basement, attached garage and a covered concrete slab for a front porch. I would like to have 3 bedrooms, hardwood floors and an open floor plan. I also would like to have it built in the 1960 or 1950 time area because the houses seem like they
are more sturdy. I dont mind putting in new windows and doors.
What do you think my chances are? Does this sound like too much to throw at a realtor?
Is a basement too much to ask for?

It really depends on what part of the country you are in.
In the South and West basements are rare, and having one does increase the value of the house.

there is not any set answer, because it might remember on, finished, no longer finished. the priority is, basement finishes are available in would tiers of high quality of end. A basement this is finished to the degree of the main residing section would be a million/2 the fee of the top point, GLA adjustment has statistically been desperate to selection between a million/4 to a million/2 of the alternative fee/squarefeet (the adjustment has a tendency larger as GLA decreases or if the GLA adjustment is $40/sf then the basement would be adjusted at $20/sf for finished. Basement and GLA is often calculated separate and basements are in no way calculated into the gross residing section. I value unfinished basements between $5-$10 consistent with sq. foot based on the peak of the ceiling.
