Well I used to think it was having this wonderful little blue eyed baby boy who smelled like baby powder and cooed and smiled at me. But now he is 21 and smells like Sparks and plays Wii all night long and now I am not so sure anymore. Maybe I haven't had a defining moment after all.

When the twelve year love of my life got married about 17 years ago. I thought I was prepared for it, but my reaction was no like no sensation I ever could have imagined in my worst nightmares. It was like from another world in the black hole dimension. Though I've had worse experience since, they are mundane and my feelings toward them understandable.

Probably the moment I laid eyes on my son and realized that I could unconditionally love another human being more than life itself without ever having set eyes on them before...pretty amazing and life changing...
Either that, or that time I successfully smashed a beer can on my forehead, it might be a toss up. (jk)

When my younger sister was diagnosed with leukemia, I realized that life is really too short to enjoy it. I told myself I will never pass any opportunity to be happy.
