Domestic issues that need to be dealt with are practical at any time war or other wise. Each issue would have its own merit and dealt with as needed.

Absolutely, but don't expect Democrats to allow domestic issues to interfere with their ability to Bash the president on the war.

That's what democrats are for. Our party focuses on that, republicans focus on protecting our country. We serve as brakes to their gas, and vice versa.

Now if my party can just stop playing at being "anti-republicans" long enough to get back to our basics and kick out the socialists, we'll do fine.

Associating with socialists? Feel free. Let them take over the party? That's suicidal.

So, does the country stop needing roads and bridges built and inspected, safe products on our shelves, criminals arrested and tried, etc. just because there's a war going on?

Without strong support at home for what our soldiers need and their families it begins to make no sense at all to continue to expect that we should continue to lie and cheat people out of their lives for political and financial gains .

Sure - it's a huge bureaucracy - only a tiny portion is focused on the war. And that's what we pay them for.
