Well...he's almost 20 now, and has been in a relationship with a girl for over 4 years. Therefore, I would be shocked, and very upset for his girlfriend. It would not turn me against my son, but it would make me think that he led his girlfriend on.

My son was 16 when he told me.....I said okay, because I really already knew. If you are a loving and observant parent it should come as no surprise. If you love them nothing should change.I told him you are the same child I have loved for 16 years and I will love you till the day I die.

I would not be happy but this is my baby and i will support him in what ever makes him happy. I will worry for his safety being our society is still not very forgiving.

I would tell him that I love him and that he always has been and always will be a treasured member of our family. I would ask him to please be careful and safe.

I would not be happy about this at all, and I would still have very strong feelings against homosexuality, but being unkind and unloving to my own child would not be an option.

nothing,he is still the same person he was before he told me.But I might talk to him about how to handle other peoples responses and tell him I love him and always will.
