look on baseball reference.com see if he even hit a homerun.

Rick Wise pitched a shutout no-hitter and hit TWO home runs in 1971. Box: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1971/B06230CIN1971.htm

Ryan only hit two homers in his major league career. The first came in his first game with the Astros, 12-Apr-1980, off Don Sutton, but the game went 17 innings and both Ryan and Sutton were long gone when the Dodgers finally prevailed, 6-5. His second dinger came on 01-May-1987 in a 12-3 romp over the Braves.

The most recent I can find -- pitcher throws a 1-0 CG ShO and hits a solo homer for the only run -- was by Bob Welch for the Dodgers on 17-June-1983. Welch took Reds pitcher Mario Soto deep in the sixth. Box: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1983/B06170LAN1983.htm

The Cubs' Juan Pizarro did it against Tom Seaver and the Mets on 16-Sept-1971.

Philadelphia's Jim Bunning against the Mets' Warren Spahn (!!! read that one again!) on 05-May-1965.

The White Sox' Early Wynn against the Red Sox' Tom Brewer on 01-May-1959. Ted didn't play.

And that's all that the BR.com Play Index has, back through 1957. And there were a few others where a relief pitcher came in, but the final was 1-0 on a homer by the starting pitcher.

It's rare, but there are a few instances, and probably some more further back where the mining isn't yet finished.

The only person I would think of is Babe Ruth.
