Well, I am a woman and I assume you aren't just asking female children. That when you say "girls" you mean all females, even women. So I will give my answer.

Nobody needs make-up and make-up companies know that.

The trick is to convince people that they need it.

Think about it. How can the make-up industry sell make-up to people who don't think they need it.

People who already like what they look like don't need to buy something to help them look better.

The beauty industry spends billions of dollars on advertising. Imagine how much they make in return.

Watch any beauty ad anywhere, and you will see how people are convinced they need make-up. It is purely psychological.

Don't be surprised when you start seeing beauty commercials targeted at boys. The untapped boy/man market is huge profit potential.

And the make-up companies know that also.

Keep an eye out for it.

they don't need make up,some prefer to wear it others don't.It's something that was been pushed in beauty advertising for so many years the girls/woman think it's a natural part of them,but if one thinks about it ,it's wearing a mask to hide the real person or it's trying to look like someone other than ones self,To bad folks just can't see the beauty within.

girls think that by putting on make-up, they can hide their imperfections that they dont want any man to see, this gives them more confidence and makes them feel like they can be beautiful because many girls think they are ugly. normally it is to hide imperfections that most guys wont even notice but they do so they spend hours trying to cover it up and all to impress the guy

We don't NEED it. We just like the way it covers up problem areas on our faces, like redness and pimples. If my face is clear enough,I don't wear any.

We are also socialized since we are young, by out patriarchal society, to be flawless and pretty so boys will like us. Because after all, we cannot live a fulfilled life unless we are married...*sarcasm*

It's a vicous cycle really. We wear it to cover up blemishes...but in the long run, it just causes more blemishes lol

You haven't seen me without it!- Then again you've never seen me. lol. I am fair skinned with blue eyes and blond hair and blond eyelashes. Without make-up- I look like I'm sick, very pale. Also, my eyelashes are blond so my eyes do not stand out or, well O.K. I'll just say IT. I'm 38 years old and without make-up people tell me I look like a teen-ager!- I am a grown woman, a school teacher! .

girls wear make up for many diffrent reasons.. one reason could be to hide blemishes or flaws on their skin.. others can be that they just dont look good without it.. and others just like it because it gives them an extra touch to them

instead of looking like a beggar wearing rags.. jeans and a shirt are better..
