The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit which ever you want to call it is the third part of the trinity of God. If you are saved and born again the Holy Spirit lives in your heart, and it guides you and speakes to you showing you the path that Jesus wants you to take. The Holy Ghost is also called the comforter. When its in your heart it gives you a great peace and a feeling of contentment. Its like a warm sercurity blanket. If you are saved the Holy Ghost even Prays to Jesus for you the Bible says with groanings that cannot be uttered because the Spirit knows what you need in your life. If you are not saved you do not have the Spirit living in you and you cannot go to Heaven without it according to Gods word.

In mainstream Christianity, the Holy Spirit is one of the three divine persons of the Holy Trinity who make up the single substance of God; that is, the Spirit is considered to act in concert with and share an essential nature with God the Father and God the Son (Jesus). The Christian theology of the Holy Spirit, or pneumatology, was the last piece of Trinitarian theology to be fully explored and developed. For this reason, there is greater theological diversity among Christian understandings of the Spirit than there is among understandings of the Son (Christology) and understandings of the Father. Within Trinitarian theology, the Holy Spirit is usually referred to as the "Third Person" of the Triune God - with the Father being the First Person and the Son the Second Person.

The Trinity is simply the intrinsic and basic activity within God Himself of knowing and loving Himself. The Holy Spirit (Ghost) proceeds from the Father (1st person) and Son (second person) and is representative of the love they all have for each other. The Holy Spirit (Ghost) is the third person of the Trinity. The Trinity is about the very basic nature of God Himself, which is a big mystery since no will will ever understand God completely.

Well, for starters, the Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost, relates to the spirit of Love, between the Father and the Son. He is also the agent of divine revelation; to awaken the human spirit to the idea of redemption. He is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity; co-equal and co-existent in Time and in Eternity.

It extends to the idea in the times of the Christ, of the Greek word "agape", which basically means love of mankind.

Interestingly, to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is the one sin which is not forgiven. (Matthew 12:32)

The father, son, and holy spirit (ghost) are all God... even though they are all different personalities the three make up the whole (kind of like a pie).
