What the question is asking is what does N have to be to make 100 times n equal to 50

First divide both sides by 100 to get the n all by itself

N = 50/100

Now just reduce the fraction

N = 1/2 or .5 in decimal form

Now plug .5 in for N to see if it's correct

100 * .5 = 50
50 = 50

So it's correct
Hope this helps

N = 1/2

To solve for N you must divide each side by 100. Why? Because you are using multiplication. So you must use the opposite, division, to isolate the N variable. 100/100 = 1 and cancels out. 50/100 = 1/2.

Plug in to check your answer. 100 x 1/2 = 50.
