i replaced a worn connecting rod and dident think about the timing until after i went to reasemble it its an older engine and i cant find any info on it the model type numbers are 320421-0134-01-7102161

The only timing on this engine is valve timing. If you didn't seperate the camshaft from the crankshaft it would remain unchanged. There is no ignition timing. The point setting will effect the timing some but the keyway in the flywheel dictates the timing. Did you know that you can replace the points and condenser ignition with a newer electronic ignition module? They do cost about $50 but you never have to mess with the points again. I got a unit from a used up lawn mower engine and put it in my tiller engine. Works great.

theres a timing on the cranshaft and camshaft both have punch marks on gears that line up. otherwise the ignition timing is controlled by the flywheel key(little square key between flywhhel and cranshaft) being you have an engine that was built on Feb/16/1971 you do have points which shoulb b set at .020.(unless unit has been changed over to electronic ignition and still then the flywheel key controlls ignition timing) u can download manual for it.
