Hmm ... Thats not always true. I'm a girl, and I've got friends that are guys that can type WAY faster than me, and I'm on my computer most of the time and have been for the past year or so. I guess it's something to do with coordination..

I don't know if it is "natural", but it is true that the fine motor muscles in the hands develop quicker in females (that is why handwriting is usually better in women than men too)
Could also be related to finger/hand size. Slender fingers might be easier to maneuver around the closely-spaced keys on a keyboard.

Given that most men who play piano and guitar can hit notes as fast as I type, tells me it's just a matter of practice and not genetics.
I was a wire operator years ago. Orders had to be entered rapidly so I went from 35 wps to 112. Still type in the 80s and as fast as most people talk. My boss got a kick out of dictating letters to someone who could type as fast as I did.

Women are born with better coordination. While men are a little slower than women unless they practice to become faster lol. That's what i think. Guys are stronger though.

I think it is mental thing and being a female. They tend to be able to split their minds so they can watch the screen and develop touch typing faster than men.
well that's my theory.

In my opinion, women are more socially adept than men. Therefore, they practice skills that allow them to be social (talking on the phone, typing, texting, etc).

i don't think thats true lol every guy that I talk to on IM types way faster than me! LOL they have to wait and wait for a responce and my favorite key is the {backspace} lol

I only type with 2 fingers but lemme tell you...I can work wonders with these 2 fingers...
