Well different groups have hated them at different times. The Romans had a dislike for them because they always were causing problems in any Jewish area that they conquered. I mean it was one rebellion after another. The Muslims hate the Jews because they are Jewish and not Muslim. They feel the same way about Christens. The Muslims claim that the land Israel is on now really belongs to them, which is wrong, that land was held by Jewish people long, long before anyone even knew what Islam was or who Muhammad was. The Germans hated the Jews because Hitler said, gave speeches, wrote books, and so on, that it was because of the Jews that they lost World War I. He used that as one reason to expel or kill them. Some Christians say it was the Jews who killed Jesus and dislike them for that reason. That is only partly true, while they did call and demand for his death it was Rome who ended up actually putting him on a cross and killing Him. Some believe that the Jews control all the worlds economy, or that they are the ones who have created numerous problems throughout the world. The fact is that they have done about as much harm in this world as any other group of people and actually less than many groups of people. There is no real reason to hate the Jewish people at all from what I can tell. Most people who do not like them do so because they feel they need some group to blame for their misfortune or due to their lack of rights and freedoms. There is no historical evidence one can point to and use as a reason to hate the Jewish people.

All sorts of stupid reasons but it boils down to the Jews ratted on Jesus. After that, its just another pick out a minority to blame your lot in life on and take their stuff.
Edit: I won't report you, and I am a Jew, and proud of it.
Edit again: Okay, you see, It's more than that. Jews were by and large successful because we had to be in order to survive. The thing is we did up front, and keep getting beaten down about it. I'm not a Zionist, I'm happy but kind of not happy with Israel. I don't like a few things about the political stance but I don't live there and understand the whole thing. I'm separated from it. Like straight people are separated from what its like to be gay. Like black people are separated from what its like to be white. You can't exactly walk in someone elses shoes. Fortunately, I can empathize. It's not the same, but it is intense within me.

Some conspiracy theorists say Jews control the world economy. Some say they killed Jesus, but if Jesus is your Savior according to prophecy, He needed to die to save us from our sins. Then you have Hitler and the holocaust.
Personally, I never understood why people hate others because of their faith.

its a combination of things, including misinterpretation of the Bible. But when I'm faced with the ignorant people who think christians are pure as the driven snow, i simply remind them that Jesus was jewish and taught jewish beliefs he just expanded them and told them in easier to understand stories for the common man to hear (parables)
