Some of you know that I've been trying to quit smoking for the past month and a half (my body's in the process of detoxing now). But after McCabe's goal on his own net three-point-seven FRAKKING seconds left in OT, I feel the need to smoke. Is this a sign that I'm too into this great game? lol

No such thing as being 'too into hockey'.
If Denis Savard can quit after 19 years of smoking, you can too!

I watched that game, it was such a great game too. Raycroft made a couple of big saves at the end of OT, but then with frickin 3.7 secs left McCabe's goal ends it. That sucks, I really wanted the Leafs to win in the shootout. And no, you're not too into hockey, look at what DC fury said lol.

You can never be too into hockey.
I am not a Leafs fan, nor do I smoke, but even I felt like I needed a drink and a smoke after seeing that goal.
I would hate to support your habit if you;re trying to quit so maybe you can put on an extra patch or something :)

How can you not relate a question mentioning McCabe with a need to smoke? Seems pretty normal to me. Gawdammit, 3 seconds to go and fires the frikkin puck into his own net. You want I should suck up half a bag of rez rockets for ya?

I bet Leafs fans who've never smoked in their lives wanted a cigarette after that. Jeez. I know I would, and I've never smoked.
When you're into this great game and it's a part of your life, I think it easily affects you. After particularly depressing losses, (like the playoffs last season, ugh) I know I'm like an emo zombie and all I want to do is a) sleep b) eat, or c) stare at the computer screen numbly, until I realize I can't register much and I go sleep or eat. Haha.

no...... I am down at the rink playing hockey 5 times a week 2 hours each session been playing for 12 years. I am in college. I also have a friend who has designed a puck for pond hockey. It has a led glowing light in the middle of a regular puck it's called the light biscuit. It was published in a USA hockey magazine. Cost him a fortune though. Oh and they are for sale too.

I don't think there is such a thing as being "too into" hockey. It's wonderfully entertaining with everything that a person looks for in a sport: speed, fighting, spirit, and craaaaazy competition. AND the beer goes hand in hand with it. Honestly, all around the perfect game.

Take a deep breath. Step away from the Marlboros...and start watching the other Marlboros!
An addendum- 288, you don't know true pain until you are a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. I'm shocked I haven't developed a three pack-a-day habit because of that "team"!
