John Adams, whose drumming habit dates back to Cleveland Municipal Stadium (the Jake opened in 1994).
He's mentioned in the Cleveland chapter in Robert Wood's delightful "Dodger Dogs To Fenway Franks", his book about his personal tour, and report cards thereof, of all 26 (at that time) major league ballparks during the summer of 1985 (Wood was a schoolteacher), including seeing the All-Star Game in Minneapolis. The work is sorely dated now -- heck, many of the parks are gone -- but it is entertaining nonetheless. I went to one game in Cleveland in 1989 -- Municipal was huge, seated like 78,000, which is a good football crowd but even a decent Friday night crowd of 27k against the then-hot A's (with Rickey and Mark and the Joser and all) was like sitting in the Grand Canyon -- and walked out to left field and spoke with Adams for a minute (he and a few buddies were the only ones out there). Nice enough guy, knows that he's got a tiny whiff of celebrity to him, but he just loves his Indians and he's there to pound the war (or rally) drum.

Hi name is John Adams. He's been doing the war cry drumming for at least 30 years! A fixture in the bleechers.

I think he is always there. I remember watching a Tigers-Indians game and you could hear that banging even on television. It is that loud. He is a very famous fan because of that.
