Im on the computer alot at night, and i always hear this weird, long vibrating sound coming from the kitchen. i go look in there, and can't find where its coming from. When i come back to the computer, all the stuff i've been typing has been erased and everything gets Xed out. This keeps happening to me.
Everyone in my house is usually asleep, and wouldn't bother to do that anyway.
Whats going on here? is my house haunted?

also.... my cat keeps growling at nothing... that may just be some weird issue she has, (you know cats, who knows what goes on in their strange little heads) but still, its something.

Hmm. Perhaps your dishwashing is running. As for the computer, the cat that you bought your child for christmas is jumping on the keyboard.
That solves it!

All right, starting with the cat: I would ignore it entierly. Not to frighten you, but haven't you even heard about the serial killer that gets a crying baby or an injured animal on a tape recorder and uses it to lure the kind-hearted to their deaths?... Then again, kitty might just be hungry =3 There's one way to know if its a real cat: leave cat food or leftovers from your meal on the porch and see if it's undisturbed tomarrow.
If your computer keeps erasing you either have a glitch or have a prankster, because I doubt a ghost could or would do somthing like that.
The humming in the kitchen: probably just your AC/heater running, a pipe with gas for the stove just a little louder than it should be, or maybe just your refrigerator adjusting the temp. inside of it. If the weather is warm where you are I would think that is the case, because the frige would have to keep pumping cold air every time it warms up.
I am not, in any way, an non-believer. I just don't think you are one of the unfortunates who happens to be haunted.

Since no one has solved the mystery of whats up with your cat acting strangely I may be able to help.
Cats imagine things. They will stare off into space and pretend something is there and that they are hunting it. I have seen several of my cats do this often and have even seen them jump to try to get the thing. Or they will see a spot on a curtain and think it is a bug. Do you really think that when your cat is playing with you that he is attacking a feather on a stick? NO hes pretending to kill a terrible foe and wins every time.
Also your cat may be doing it to freak you out. If he starts growling into space while youre busy and you stop what youre doing immediately to see what hes doing, pet him and talk to him then he has a surefire way to get your attention! He might just enjoy getting you to pay attention on command. It sounds like giving a cat too much credit, but i have seen many a cat knock a cup over to get milk out. This trick isnt much more difficult to figure out.
Most likely your cat is just bored and finding ways to entertain himself at night so he can sleep all day.

There is no possible way for anyone to know with that data. You would need to do an EMF sweep, set up video cameras, and do EVP's. For more information on stuff like that watch Ghost Hunters on Sci-fi they'll explain it. I'm too tired too. Most supposed hauntings are 95% of the time explainable. There is the possibility your computer is simply restarting. The cat that you hear may be trying to communicate with your own cat (unless that is your cat meowing outside) and when you go to check you could be scaring it away. And the cat could be hissing at anything.

Take a small mirror and some salt. Place the mirror in a different place in your house each night where neither drafts nor animals will be likely to disturb it. pour a circle of salt on the mirror. Check the mirror when you wake up during the night and again in the morning for any disruption or design worked into the circle of salt.

Nothing bothers me about this except the cats reaction. Animals are often reported as acting strange in cases involved with demons. I would nt worry unless you have been around a seance/ouiji board or actually used one.
if not, im not sure.
good luck!
oh, and demons normally are active from 3am thru 6am. and stop going to that door.

sounds like you might have some sort of activity in your home...the cat growling at nothing, would be enough for me to think something is there...animals can always sense things that are out of character...we normally talk about paranormal in the paranormal section, there are many paranormal investigators there...its under the science and maths section then go into alternative...then into paranormal...i tell you this as many people here dont know it exists..many people write in there about questions they have concerning paranormal activity...we have one member who has his own site and we are trying to get some real discussions going,...you can check out his site and talk to others who have alot of experiences in hauntings...hope to see you over in the paranormal section..plus ill give you his link (joe)

Your computer may be malfunctioning. Your fridge may run for a few minutes and stop. The neighbors cat is likely hungry but gives up on you. But then again there are ghost!!!

Could be a loved one trying to get your attention. Ghosts don't actually interact with teh living, that's just a hollywood myth. Spirits whom have crossed over do, and want us to pay attention so taht we know they are okay-Including animals, and sometimes our spirit guides and animal spirit guides want us to know they are around. Although there's always a big chance your computer is just old and acts out-or has a virus.
