People feel Wal-mart does predatory practices. It low-balls costs to drive the competition out of business, and once it has a solid share of the market, raises the rates

Wal mart out scources its products to keep prices low, while this seems benificial it eventually kills the small independant stores that buy there products in less bulk and in higher payed regions such as France, England, USA and other countries were a higher reasonable wage is paid. Then when the people that own the stores dont have a job and are low on money they have to shop at the cheapest place they can... Wal-Mart. Thus feeding the beast that kill there buisness.

A few years after wal mart came to my town, 3 of 4 major stores in town closed and along with a hand full of small mom and pop stores. All abandoned storefronts now.

Most of the people employed at the places that closed were bum outa luck.

Five years ago, desperate for a job I applied at wal mart. I was hired but instead took a real job offer somewhere else. (Thank god)

Wal mart had offered me $0.25 over minimum wage.

This was not good for my town and it's not good for America.

Now wal mart is breaking ground 10 miles from here on one of it's superstar destroyer 24hr wal marts. WTF?

I HATE wal-mart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That store has put sooo many other stores out of business. That store also is terrible to it's employee's, and from what I hear, offers very little medical if any at all. I hate that store, but yet forced to go there, because it's eaten up all the competition. I miss stores like Ames, K-mart, Caldor, and Bradlees. They are all gone here.

Wal-Mart is responsible for a lot of jobs going over to China from the U.S. They are so concerned with keeping prices low in order to keep their profits the same, they strong-arm vendors to give them huge discounts in order to provide it to their customers. Wal-Mart is 25% of the retail market in the U.S. No company can afford to lose Wal-Mart's buying from them. They basically say, "Okay. Give us these socks for 10 cents a pair or we'll buy from someone else." The vendors are forced to seek cheap labor, usually in China, in order to provide Wal-Mart with these low prices. Wal-Mart pretty much tells these companies to move to China in order to keep their labor costs low so they can provide Wal-mart with these low prices.

In one instance, they even sided with the Chinese govt. in a lawsuit a U.S. t.v. manufacturer brought against China because of the uncompetitive nature of their business practices and the fact that they were getting government subsidies, something American companies cannot compete with. Wal-Mart sided with China against a U.S. company. What does that say about them?

Walmart is known fro having cheap prices. This is good and bad. It is good for people who want savings, and it is bad for competing small businesses, and workers in foreign countries not even making minimum wage to produce good for Walmart.
