I have a bachelors in marketing, how hard is it to get certified to be a elementary school teacher?? I know it is called something, and it probably varies per state, I live in TN if that helps...

You need a Bachelor of Education to teach in elementary schools. Secondary is a different matter.

A lot of states have non-traditional programs. You have to have a bachelor's, pay a fee ($1200 in AR), attend a few classes & you get your teaching certificate. In AR you get to do all of that while teaching so, it's a really good dea. Check your state's educ. website.

Go to the TN board of education website. You will probably need to look for alternative routes for licensure or certification. The site will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!

You have to see what the special Education requirments are and take the Praxis test for grade and subject.

In most states like oregon you need to get a masters in teaching in some form or another. it's like a two year program.
