bellagio, I went to a CSU and then went to a private pharmacy school. You can do this in 5 or 6 years. If you are serious about pharmacy school, you might want to check out http://www.getintopharmacyschool.com

For prepharmacy, you can go to any school. You just have to make sure the courses will transfer, and you can just look at the transfer guide to ensure the correct class. The issue is that California is so competitive that it is hard to get into any pharmacy school without a bachelors. The University of the Pacific (UOP) has a special program.
The minimum number of years is 6, but many take upwards of 8 years.

You will have to complete at least 2 years of prerequisite classes before you are considered for Pharmacy schools. Each Pharm school has their own admissions requirements, so you will have to get in touch with the ones you are considering to find out what they require. Then, sit down with an advisor at your school to map out a schedule. As a general rule, though, you will need the following;

200 Level Biology sequence
200 Level Chemistry sequence
Organic Chemistry Sequence
At least one course in Physics
Calculus level math

If you need help with your schedule, let me know. My wife is looking into Pharm School, and I am helping her make her schedule.

I agree with the answer above. Just choose a college with a campus you like. All of them will have the courses that you need to be accepted into pharm school. Choose one where you see yourself going for four years, possibly one close to your home.
