along with excessive hair growth,leg/feet swelling, lower back pain, no period for over a year.it's like period cramps 3x! I've been to a gynecologist and endon. It showed extremely high male hormone levels with normal insulin levels. I also took an ultra sound and it showed a 3cm cyst. But I got the ultra sound in April of last year (the blood work I just got done) My doctor has but me on birth control to restore my periods (for the 4 months, nothing yet though) and a pain medication. But nothing seems to help. And the pain is just getting worst. So my question is, what can I do for the pain? Like are there certain excercises to home remidies that I can do? And I am not over weight/under weight. Before I got the pain,I ran 4 miles a day. Is there anything that I can do to spark my period as well? I'll be getting an abdominal/pelvic CT scan in a week as well. Thanks for reading. Please help, the pain is taking over my life!!

A Summer 2007 Reader's Digest reported on a woman with pain all over, excessive weight gain, and low libido. After 10-15 years they found a tumor on her pituatary gland at the base of the brain. She had been to 10-20 doctors and specialists. Her husband was ready to leave her, because he couldn't understand.Since your male hormones are high from the adrenals-Pancreas,you might have an ovarian tumor inhibiting your estrogen or an overactive gland producing male hormones.Be patient as the doctors narrow the possibilities, but don't give up!

Your symptoms sound like poly cystic ovarian disease. It's basically controlled with birth control pills. the cyst is more then likely what is causing the irregular periods and the pain in your stomach. As for dealing with the pain try applying heat. and staying still as much as possible.

Heat will relax any muscles that are tight and causing pain.

Advil--You can take up to 800mg/6 hrs.
If you're still in pain, piggyback Tylenol 3 reg tablets in between the advils.

For swelling legs, bananas (potassium).

Call your dr. first thing in the morning to let him/her know that the pain is extreme and that you need the appointments to be moved up pronto, or they need to check you into the hospital.

Have the docs checked for endometriosis?
You can try to stretch and do yoga breathing for the pain. Do you take Advil?
