Glucose (Glc), a monosaccharide (or simple sugar), is an important carbohydrate in biology. The living cell uses it as a source of energy and metabolic intermediate. Glucose is one of the main products of photosynthesis and starts cellular respiration in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The name comes from the Greek word glykys (γλÏ
κÏÏ), which means "sweet", plus the suffix "-ose" which denotes a carbohydrate.
Two stereoisomers of the aldohexose sugars are known as glucose, only one of which (D-glucose) is biologically active. This form (D-glucose) is often referred to as dextrose (dextrose monohydrate), especially in the food industry. This article deals with the D-form of glucose. The mirror-image of the molecule, L-glucose, cannot be metabolized by cells in the biochemical process known as glycolysis.
Glucose is commonly available in the form of a white substance or as a solid crystal. It can also be commonly found as an aqueous solution

and even starch (a glucose polymer) into glucose the form of sugar which cells can use for energy

It is a simple sugar. Sucrose (the sugar we eat most of) is a complex sugar. Lactose is milk sugar, also a simple sugar. Fructose is the sugar present in fruit and vegetables, a simple sugar also. Glucose is very good for u, actually u do need small amounts of it to be healthy. Whereas sucrose isn't so good unless it's in it's natural form, cane sugar or sugar beet. Then it is really good for u. But not when it's refined.

Glucose is a form of sugar. It is a major energy source for all cellular and bodily functions. It is found in the blood of our bodies. Glucose can also be derived from other sources such as cornstarch. I use this in coooking.
