Loosen all 8 clamps (so much, that you remove the screws, but leave the clamps on).
Pry the manifolds off the heads (remember where they go, the direction - they might spin out of position - and the location of the clamps).
WD40 the inside of the manifolds (carb side & engine side).
Lay all the manifolds in place, so they are halfway mounted (with the clamps on and screws removed).
The top half of the manifod is on the engine and the bottom half is not on (the manifold is ****** halfway on & off).
In this position they're almost pointing straight up.
Lay the carbs in place on top of the manifolds.
Now the carbs are halfway in the manifolds and halfway out (****** half in & half out).
Press them down with all your might LOL
The WD40 will help everything to slip into place.
You can use a small screwdriver as a pry bar (like a tire iron, to get stuff started if it gets stuck halfway).
Once you know the trick, it's fun.
Kawasaki Vulcans and most V-Twin engines use the same technique.

If this sounds complicated, re-read it over & over, then print it out and bring a copy to the bike while you're doing the work.

Leave all the clamps loose, even the ones that hold the rubber tubes on the engine. Try engaging the carbs into the front cylinders first then pry the carbs downward flexing the front tubes if you have to till you can engage the back cylinder carbs. Use some spray lube, you can use contact/brake cleaner, makes the rubber tubes real slippery, but, you'll have to work fast cause the evapoates rapidly, good luck.
