Usually if you are taking the car out of state there is no sales tax due, but you will have to pay the sales tax in the state you are going to reside in when you buy your license plates and you have a title issued by another state. I do not know what Canadian provinces do about this.

If the car is assembled in Michigan, the shipping costs would be lower there.
