Yes, I've been "sexually harrassed" at work. (Thank goodness I no longer work there) but...when I was 16, I used to have a manager who was always trying to get me into one of the back storage rooms alone...he constantly made sexual remarks to me while I was working, and stared at me constantly. It made me really uncomfortable. It was embarrassing, too. I was kind of afraid to ever go near the storage room (which at times I had to do to retrieve things needed for my job)- I always made sure not to go in there alone. He would say things that were pretty graphic (which I won't repeat here), entailing "exactly" what he wanted to "do to me" if he ever got the chance. This kind of thing, day after day, and it wasn't flattering, in my opinion. It was horrible. I didn't report it. I wanted to keep my job...I didn't want my boss (his boss) to see me as a trouble-maker, or someone who's "causing waves", so I kept my feelings about the whole thing to myself and just dealt with it up until the day that manager finally quit working for the company I was working for. It was such a relief when he left!

I experienced worse in college (an incident was was beyond harassment), but at work, yes. I told no one at work. It wouldn't have been taken seriously and would probably have been turned around on me.

Sammy reflects one aspect of why I didn't bother: the mentality that all men want it. there was also a racial element, since this was a white woman harassing a black man.

The woman was frequently flashing cleavage at me, bending over slowly in front of me. At first I thought it was inadvertent and made a point of acting oblivious. The behavior increased and I always made a point of not looking because I knew it would only get ME in trouble if I did. Suddenly, she started regularly accusing me of being gay, not a real man, etc.

I just learned to ignore it.

Like I said, I KNOW it would have been turned on me if I'd done anything but act completely oblivious.

Yes, but I just invite my husband to lunch and make sure he picks me up. That way he can meet everyone at my place of employment. A dirty look from a 6'3" guy usually does the trick. Feel free to use a good friend if husband is not available. I usually tell someone. 9 times out of 10, you are not the first person he or she has done this to.

Well when I was working at Payless Shoes there was this guy that was inappropriate with the younger female workers including me.

There was inappropriate touching, all of us had told him several times to stop and not do it again. He stopped for the ones that told him to stop, but whenever a new girl would come she would complain about him as well. So after the fifth new girl to be inappropriately touched we told our manager, she had a talk with him and it stopped, then 3 weeks later he quit.

I wasn't aware there were any women who hadn't been sexually harassed at least once. Yes, I did, unfortunately, I didn't tell anyone who mattered.

I was sexually harassed at school by a guy I had just met that day. We had gotten into a playful argument about something I don't remember, and he made a remark about my *ahem* figure behind my back. My guy friends told me about it later and I had him reprimanded.
