I could not find any bungee jumping places in Missouri but you could jump out of a plane if that would be an interest to you.
They have sites in St. Louis, Sullivan, and Springfield. I have seen people in Sullivan doing it. It looks fun but I don't know if I could ever build up the courage.
Here is more info

You could probably call them too and see if they knew of any bungee jumping in the area. 1-800-404-JUMP

With the highway 40 construction, it would be helpful for you to live closer to where you work. Since you dont say where your job is, it makes it a little more difficult to recommend an area. St. Louis suburbs are north county, west county and south county. North county has the most affordable housing, is more racially diverse and there are less new homes and apartments being built in this area. The crime rate is higher in these suburbs than in some others. The nicer areas to live in north county would be Florissant and Hazelwood. I would however check out the school districts before you make your decision. Your commute will be along Highway 270 and Highway 70. West County is a more affluent area where the homes and apartments are a little more expensive but it is very safe and the Rockwood and Parkway school districts are very good. Highway 40 closures do have some impact on the commute from this area since most of your commute would be Highway 40 and Highway 270. Some of the most expensive areas are Ladue,Frontenac and Clayton. Some of the more afforable areas are Creve Coeur, Chesterfield and Ballwin. South County is safe and reaonably priced when it comes to homes and apartments and there is new construction. It is more expensive than North and less expensive than West. The school districts are also pretty good. Its extremely family oriented and slow paced. Some of the areas that are good are Fenton, Crestwood, Sunset Hills, Mehlville and Oakville. Your commute would be along Highway 44, 55 or 270. While I have nothing against living across the river in Illinois, you will have to deal with a bridge commute and traffic each day. Once you have a job location, please post again and we can all give you much more specific and meaningful information. Welcome to our town.

There arent any bungee jumpiing places in St. Louis. Last place I went was in Colorado. If you want some excitement, you can do a climbing wall or sky dive. St. Louis has places to do both of these.
