"Be a woman, be a fan!"

Its played during pro football games to promote NFL clothes to women. Isn't that a bad ad campaign? What it is really saying IMO is "Be a fan girls- cause you know you can't play! All you can do is worry about fashion."
Agree? Disagree?

What if it said, "Be a man- Be a fan!" Can you see the difference?

It might also be suggesting that women can like football, too. It's hard to tell with this one.

The NFL is well aware that it has female fans and is trying to market to them. Have you noticed that ads for items that are of interest only to women have started appearing during football game broadcasts? That's why.

I'm not familiar with the commercial, but it is a fact that the NFL doesn't admit female players, so all a woman can be is a fan. It's just true.

I guess women can join amateur football leagues. As to why they would want to? I have no idea.

Are you serious?! People just love to take things in a negative light. No wonder feminism is so darn popular.

Be a woman, be a fan- to me is their way of saying, "Hey you women out there, don't be ashamed to be a sports fan, we welcome you!"

Yeah, you just want to find something to call sexist, methinks. I think the NFL just wants to attract more female spectators. Besides, how many girls actually want to play football? Start a WNFL if it's such a big deal.

Be a man, be a fan? My indignant response would be "Damn NFL with their feminist agenda, trying to stereotype us men!"

i thought wearing these clothes is about showing support for the team, and meeting other fans.

But you're free to think what you want.

I think you are trying too hard to make something out of nothing. I doubt the marketing people read that much into it....and you shouldn't either.
